At approximately 45 miles north of Kailua-Kona and about 75 miles from Hilo, this location serves as a perfect escape from the bustling tourist areas typical of hotels and resorts. The spacious 700 square foot guest suite offers a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living/dining area, and a tranquil bedroom with a queen-sized bed. A modern bathroom featuring large showers, separate toilets, and twin vessel sinks adds to your comfort. With the addition of a pull-out queen-sized wall bed in the living room, the suite can accommodate two to four guests comfortably.

Completed in March 2017, this newly-built attached guest suite comes with its own private entrance and parking space. Tastefully decorated and entirely self-sufficient, it provides an ideal setting for you to embrace the authentic Hawaiian lifestyle while enjoying the beauty of the island.

Your expansive 700 square foot lanai invites you to dine outdoors at a table for four, utilize the gas grill, or lounge comfortably as you sip on a mai tai while admiring the 180-degree ocean views. Witness the captivating scenery that includes sprawling ranch land, stunning coastlines, and magnificent islands such as Maui, Koolawe, Molokini, and Lanai, along with three majestic volcanoes—Hualalai, Mauna Loa, and the often snow-capped Mauna Kea. Each evening, the esteemed sunsets along the Kohala Coastline create a painterly display of colors that will take your breath away.

Take advantage of the clear night skies to stargaze from the lanai, courtesy of the Big Island’s limited light pollution, which enhances your viewing experience through telescopes on top of Mauna Kea.

This one-bedroom suite is one of the most affordable options on the Big Island. While air conditioning is not available, ceiling fans are thoughtfully installed since the elevation of approximately 1600 feet keeps temperatures around 7-10 degrees cooler than coastal areas. Enjoy an average of 357 days of sunshine each year, alongside minimal rainfall averaging just 7 inches annually.

The owners reside in the main house on the property, respecting your privacy while remaining accessible should you require assistance.

Just 15 minutes away, Kawaihae Harbor offers a variety of dining experiences, including local tiki bars, fresh seafood restaurants, and casual eateries like burger/taco joints and ice cream shops specializing in Hawaiian Shaved Ice. From the harbor, you can embark on adventures such as diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, or whale watching.

Travel north for 20-35 minutes to discover the small, historic sugar plantation towns of Hawi and Kapa'au, known for their artistic communities filled with charming shops and delightful eateries. Guests who do not provide a negative test result must quarantine at a designated hotel for 10 days upon arrival.
